Welcome to Middle School Business Computer Science (MSBCS)! This course is designed to promote and reinforce collaboration and computer skills while exposing students to the principles of business in the 21st Century. The curriculum includes an introduction to the principles of computer education, keyboarding skills (basic and beyond), Internet safety and usage, and computer applications. Expanding vocabulary and facilitating effective writing will be stressed to improve student's ability to communicate and collaborate. Instruction will be designed to enhance student's ability to be productive in the 21st Century. According to the National Commission on Writing, "People who cannot write and communicate clearly will not be hired and are unlikely to last long enough to be considered for promotion." Students will explore how personality traits and personal values align with career choices and will develop a career plan. Personal, professional, and ethical standards of behavior for the workplace will be examined and reinforced in the classroom.
